Good FHC morning members!

While out on a dog walk yesterday, UPS makes a delivery to neighbors and then us. So.......it looks like maybe, just maybe All the gifts we ordered will show up on time! Sure hope so.

I got a tree for the outside deck yesterday. We'll put the lights on it this morning. All of the snow that was caked up inside the branches melted off real nice with the above freezing temps we had yesterday.

Good morning. Was awake from midnight to 0300 so got a late start (for me) this morning at 0600. Spent a few hours yesterday afternoon digging stuff out and moving things around in preparation (hopefully) for the logger to drop those trees today or tomorrow. Got the grapple on the Kioti and dug out the rear ballast box. Supposed to be in the 40's today and tomorrow, with temps possibly in the 50s by Friday with heavy rain all day (followed by a rapid freeze by Friday night). We've had below average temps all month, so while the warmer temps will be nice, I'm not looking forward to the rain and the freeze that will follow. One day of rain isn't enough to melt the snow on the ground and will just create a sheet of ice (that will be around until May). Time to break out the microspikes.

 

Morning all. Took the dogs for a short walk this morning as it wasn't raining. I even saw a star or two. Now they are jumping all over campinspecter telling him it is time to get up.

Car gets new shocks today and I get some Christmas shopping in as well.

Sounds like we are going to get colder, maybe snow weather this coming week. Right now it is just above freezing. I hope we get home before it starts to snow.

Sawdust Man I love the sunrise pictures you have been posting. It has been so dark and gloomy here all day with the heavy rain overcast we have had.

Having lived 44 years in the PNW I know how gloomy it can be in the wintertime.
I really like the "winter" down here.... we rarely go more than a day or two without some sunshine, up there (Astoria, Oregon area) we could go literally months with zero sun.

I've got it today. Been up for some time now so might as well log in.

Everything was slippery outside due to the warmer temps and then colder temps. Had to be careful walking. Our cold temps (singles digits) return tonight.

Good morning everyone!

 

Did it again with being awake from around midnight to 0200. Been trending more and more to being awake during the middle of the night. My dog gets grumpy because if I'm awake, then he's awake, and apparently he isn't cool with his sleep being interrupted in the wee hours of the morning. He gets his revenge by letting me know that if he has to be awake, then he wants to go out (which only makes me more awake...).

Logger dropped off the skidder yesterday evening and said he would be here around 0900 to drop those three trees.

Heading to the woodyard, need to get a load of 16" oak split and delivered before noon, run an errand while in town, fill our wood boxes in the house and have a friend probably coming to get load of wood...I'm enjoying my day off...
