I'm going to show this to my wife and see if she agrees. I will tell her you're practically a genius so you have to be right

I think it was 4 or 5 pieces of red oak splits. It was 10 hours before it was reloaded.

Yeah, it was cold outside but the result of that firing up was an uncomfortable house temp for sleeping (73). Probably 71 maybe 72 tops for us but only during the day.

That'll change over the holidays as we have guests coming. So, it'll be warmer than what we like.

When firing up, I don't stack higher than the smoke flap; do you?

Try not to...but occasionally there will be an odd shaped piece or something...just gotta get it in there and close the door, the fire will eat it. (That said, I know they say to make sure the smoke flap doesn't remain up...can screw with the way it burns I guess)
But Lamppa says you can stack clear to the top in the back

Seen a hack on FB today...guy took an old electric dryer, took the drum and motor out, cut the cabinet down smaller, then just used the electric elements and the blower to make a workshop heater...genius!

Last night the bathroom exhaust fan started sounding weird. It was still running but not moving any air. Our house retains a lot of moisture in the winter, to the point we run a de-humidifier, so that's not good at all. It was -10 outside last night so I decided to wait.

I got up on the snow covered roof this morning and found the flap was frozen shut. Easy fix. Thinking about deleting that flap since the the fan has one too.

My latest package dilemma has finally come to an end. After 1 phone call to the purchase company and 3 phone calls to the local post office, it was delivered today.

Here's the route it took to get here. Started in Kentucky and ended in southern Michigan. 14 days and 11 stops later.....

Just noticed the 3 day label. Lol

Thank goodness this isn't a Christmas gift, or any kind of gift, just something to put on the outside of the house. Of course, I should have done some more perusal before ordering to see where it was being shipped from (I assumed US - LOL). Still waiting in US customs after more than a week. Guessing that I won't get it until some time in January so it won't actually be put on the house until March/April when it is warmer.

Seems deliverys are getting worse with USPS right at the top. They probably need another price hike.

USPS isn't bad here. Stuff usually shows up on time.

FEDEX is pathetic...they deliver a day or more late 10x more often than they deliver on time.

UPS is almost always on time or early.
