Stacked the rest today. Primed for another trip to the orchard. Cant have a partial stack of apple hanging around.
Nice Brad! I need to get over there, just haven’t had time. And now looks like we may get snow. So that means I’ll have time open up. LOL.
Third round. Hard fought face cord cut today. 2.5 hours this afternoon. First time there for 201 top handle. Unloaded. Ready for splitting and stacking. Headed back probably Monday. Ought to be fun with some snow on the ground right Eric?
I have the solution for you!!! They are doing what Husky's do best at my place...collect dust! 338 even comes with an Echo case. Besides, they are more ideal for your signature line than mine!
First load out of the orchard. Hard to believe it’s been over 5 years since I cut here. The little MS250C from jo191145 had its first real job from me. Perfect saw for the job. I didn’t hit any metal but I did hit some woven fabric training tie that got the chain monkeyed up pretty good. Pulled the bar and chain off to clear the rat’s nest and good to go. Nice to not need tools to do that.
A Stihl??? Then that explains the disturbance in the force! Nice load of wood. Too bad I couldn't make it.
That case will definitely make it run better... I sure wish you had a ported XS2511T in that orchard. You would be ... That's some nice work you're doing.
Enough snow has melted so I split the last load...finally. Ill get it stacked and head back for another load next week.
Not tired of it yet? If memory serves me, last time I was into orchard wood, we tapped out at 52 trees. Thing with us was, the guy I know who's family owned them asked us to pile up what we didn't take on the root balls for easier clean up.
Not tired yet. I figure I'll get a decent premium for it a year from now so its worth the extra effort. No clean up required or mentioned. Cut what you want and take only the trees pushed over.
That's the way to get those benjamins!!!! Sometimes, ya just gotta ask yourself "What would nashville do?"
Snow gone and ground was firm enough so I headed back late this afternoon. Most of the trees were on the small side in the row I went down, so I limbed them and pulled the trunks out to the grass to buck. Solid face cords worth. I worked til dusk. Was hoping Skier76 would stop by to help or at least bring a coffee. Ill process off the truck tomorrow.
Not in quantity. I sold maybe 250 bundles last year of seven different species. Apple in the top three. Ill offer up small quantities (eighth and quarter cords) a year from now. I've had a few inquiries for volume on my FBM bundle listings. I also have a customer that might be interested for their outdoor fireplace. Ill get a decent premium for it.
