    Morning all. Dark, calm and not raining - yet. Our province got hit quite hard in places so there are road closures from landslides, flooding and too much snow ( up in the northern section).

    Christmas dinner cooking for Sabbath to do today and othere chores. It is going to be a busy day.

    Sawdust Man the shop build looks great. I enjoy seeing construction projects.

    Early because I woke up chilly, loaded stove made coffee, warm now. Now TJV what’s sorghum syrup?

    WW2 there was sugar rationing, if your grandparents lived on a farm with maple trees and a sugar house. All family recipes had a substitute sugar/maple syrup in the margins. Except for white cake frosting sugar only. Now an enterprising Grandmother sold extra sugar rations in town for cash.

    Sorghum is a different kind of cane, grows farther north than sugar cane. What we have was made in TN.

    Going to the church this morning to unload and set up tables for the mission project.
    Then see if I can get a nap...more 6PM-6AM shifts to go.

    Chilly day. 17⁰/33⁰ sunny with wind chills to be aware of. Woodstove back up to temp.

    I was hoping to move some wood around, but the wind could be a deciding factor.

    We're supposed to go visit Mrs MikeInMa's Uncle this afternoon. But, she got sick last night. Some stomach thing. We'll see.

    Good morning. -7 at this hour with a nice thick mantle of snow on the ground. Probably not getting above zero today so they say.

    Helping with the house and some of the shopping errands in preparation for the holidays and my wife’s birthday which is in a few days.

    It is a good day to stay in proximity to the fire and watch that Army/Navy game later. Thanks for the heads up on that one MikeInMa.

    Just a few years ago I would have been planing on fishing out on the ice this morning, even if it was -20. I am kind of glad I am not that mad at them anymore.
