That's funny because we're in Tennessee and are so tired of the summers. Constant sweat and bugs from Apr-Oct. This time of year is not bad down here. I told my wife if we ever have to move we're going to the Northwest Virginia Blue Ridge Mountains, like Blacksburg or Roanoke (still the South I guess, cooler though at elevation, and absolutely beautiful). Southern New Hampshire is nice too, but that would be cold relatively. Same grass but greener haha.
My weather forecast of "gusts over 40" is bs. The large sliding glass door has been flexing seals all day, cellular blinds rocking, and one I felt the desk under my hand and elbow vibrate for many seconds straight.
Ended up from 5"-6". No plowing today, just a quick shovel of the deck/ramp and then off for some windshield time. More snow is forecasted overnight, so the clean up will be tomorrow.
It’s snowing like crazy now. Visibility is not much. I can see the barn, but that’s about it. I shoveled a path to the shop and made room for a truck. There was at least 2” when I came back in. Shoveled the deck when I got back to the house and it turned back to white as soon as I made a pass.
Right? The grass is always greener in the other side until you take all factors into effect. 29° out 73° in ash coals in the quadrafire. I'll rechooch in a few minutes. Probably with more ash.
Mild and breezy outside...40 degrees...winds gusting to 30ish. Deep freeze coming this weekend. Walnut and Cherry in the boiler.
Currently 22* and just loaded stove with oak for the overnight. Had single digits at the house this morning. I actually turned the oil furnace on in the AM. Going to need an oil delivery as the tank is just under 1/4 full. First time in over 6 years I'll need to get tank filled.
It's 47 right now, and got up to 67 today. Not sure what is up with our weather, but it's all over the place.
Just brought in another load of wood and there is a foot of snow on the wood tarp. Had to shovel a lot of snow to make a path, and it was open earlier. Sure is pretty out. We passed the forecasted snowfall hours ago.
