I reckon we be having a White Christmas. 16” on the ground as we speak and no above freezing temps for 14 days out. I know that can change in a heartbeat tho,,

0/75 It’s cold. Just brought a load of hardwood in. Mixed oak and other high btu species. The chickens started to lay again this week. It’s weird how they lay in the coldest months and take a break all summer.

Stephiedoll , I'm burning a bunch of 5 year dried honey locust. It's really really nice. 4 years it's great, 3 years not enough, but 4+ years is great

Yep, it's good stuff and really wakes the stove up. I still have a stash of hedge and more locust that was split in 2023 so only 2+ years to go, I hope.
I should add that it is much harder to keep wood this long since all my storage is now in town/backyard but doing the best that I can.

One of my brothers and my daughter both like goofy “Dad” jokes. I have a feeling there are a few hoarders that do as well.

I’m definitely ready for warm weather. I didn’t used to mind the cold, but now it’s just plain cold that you feel in yer bones. I like a good fire and some warm food. I used to razz about people having houses down south, but now I am talking with my wife about it. Figures. I’m not even 40 yet.
