"Core" stuff didn't start around here until a year or two after I was out. We may have learned of it but it wasn't touched on long/much IF we did.

There’s a famous quote from Zhukov in 1945 that is relevant now more than ever. :zip:

Operation Paperclip, the Vatican Ratlines, MK Ultra, Mockingbird, it’s all a well documented part of a history that most would rather not dredge up.

And with that I’ll stay in my lane because clearly this is not the place to shine light on certain topics.

To me that is the definition of blindly following the gov.
When the mere conversation of things that our country may be doing wrong the first reaction is to shut the person up

Ah...well they are just moderating according to the rules that we all had to agree to follow before becoming a member here...which I totally get, seeing as without those rules things can get pretty out of control pretty quickly! But I do agree that a certain other site is totally over the top.
I personally think that here we have a pretty darn good balance of rules, and leeway to still discuss a bit here. I think if you ever came to a FHC get-together, and met some members in person, I think you'd find a pretty like minded bunch of folks...I know I sure have!
The sites where almost anything goes are usually full of a bunch of keyboard warriors, and are a HOT MESS, to put it politely!
I think the member that mentioned the thread was pushing the limits was just reminding so that things don't go too far, and then it does get locked.

I believe that there is a song...

If you don't like what you see here, get the funk out!

You did nothing to me or anyone else as far as I can tell! I just gave my opinion (right or wrong)

If you have a bug up your butt with me, send me a PM and we can talk! I like your posts!

If it gets political, one side vs another and members start arguing it will be shut down. Politics is not allowed on this site, and this thread is walking a tightrope, but so far members have not crossed the line.

    No problem with you personally.
A problem with the fact we can't have an honest discussion on this forum

You can, just start a private thread with whoever you would like to discuss things with...you can invite as few or as many as you'd like and have a completely honest discussion, without moderator intervention (unless someone reports personal threats made, or something serious like that, then I believe admin can step in)

It was never my intention for this thread to devolve into simple partisan politics (and it hasn’t). From the start it was about pointing out the weird things that everybody’s tax dollars have funded, clandestine operations, agencies that operate without oversight regardless if team red or blue is running the show. The permanent state. And I know some people might take the muckraking to be disdain for the country as a whole, but that’s completely and wildly off the mark. I love this country and the constitution that was written to protect us from tyranny by our own representatives. The aim was to raise awareness, and above all else to drive the point home that we can and should do better.
