20/72 up to let the dogs out and do a reload with white oak. Tomorrow nights looking brutal with a negative windchill. Hopefully I don't find any rabbits frozen to death like last year. I built a big brush pile for them.
10/65 A few hrs left on a load of Ash from last evening. Just to clarify. 10 is -10F and dropping. Should see -14F before the turn this am. Winter has arrived. The foot of snow last weekend adds to our seasonal enjoyment! Have fun using your hard-earned wood supplies everyone! It's here.
2° out, feels like -11°. Inside 69° at rechooch time at 6 am, loaded 5 yr dried red oak and Honey locust with crabapple branch skinnies to stuff the stove on top of last nights honey locust and crabapple coals. I turned the t stat up to kick the furnace heat on so there are no pipe issues. An ounce of prevention since I didn't hear the furnace run at all last night.
30/70 have a mixed bag burning now. Need to bring some wood in for single digits overnight. Got my deer all cut up last night, just need to run it to the processor which is about a mile from here
We are back in business. I noticed a broken firebrick a couple days ago that was the biggest reason I shut her down. Got that replaced. Oak and elm kindling a blazing
Been down in the 30's at nights for several days so have been burning more during the daylight hours. Quit loading wood about 4 o'clock so the fire goes out before bedtime but the house does not get to cold overnight. Brought another wheeler of Doug Fir into the garage so good for another several days. Shortly I will have to put the 4way wedge on the splitter and rive up several bushels of kindling for us and an older couple that I give kindling to. That will set us up for the next month!
6° 30 mph winds off the lake Burning Sugar maple keeping STT 600 it’s down to 78 in the living room.. Doors keep opening for darn Dog!!
27* going to 12*, maybe will hit 30 tomorrow. Currently burning Oak and have some BL on stand by to mix in. First time I turned the stove blower on this year.
Did you get your patio wood filled before this cold hit? We'll be flirting with single digits tonight but not quite there yet.
no sir I did not, was going to work on that last Saturday but the wife wanted the outdoor lights up. Happy wife happy life. Not really a great big issue though unless we get a lot of snow. I have about 2 to 3 days worth inside and a wheel barrow load on the patio.
It was below zero last night. Fed the stove some nice oak and hard maple and woke up to a mostly cool house but not chilly. Also discovered my night vision scope can see some of the heat from the stove.
1f, wind chill -6f, 68 inside reloading with white oak and ash. Doing the nightly 2-330am let the dogs out and of course the pit husky mix won't come in and wants to stay outside
