I wish we had a Rural King. The closest to me is 330 miles away.

I think my experience with the local TSC shortly after it opened says it all. We went to the store at 8?am on a Sunday. Closed. No sign on the door for hours of operation. We went back an hour or so later and it was open. As we were checking out, I suggested they put an hours of operation on the door. She had a dumbfounded look on her face and didn't respond. We went back a month or so later and still no hours of operation sign. We rarely go there.

Our local TSC store is still a "farm store"...the next closest one is in a wealthier area, and their store is a lil more "yuppieville"...their prices are higher too (but they will price match our closer store)

I really do miss Farm & Fleet. I remember being pretty young and spotting a Husky 394 on the shelf there. I couldn't think of anyone who would need a saw that big. But I wanted it none the less. LOL

We've got those and fleet farms as well. The closest TSC' s are about 30 minutes away either direction. There's no rural king in Wisconsin afaik

We had a Farm n Fleet, soon after they closed RKO came in (the same building) They are on the "farm" end of town, then TSC is on the "shopping mall" end of town.
We don't have one in this county, but I know in a couple surrounding counties there is a Family Farm n Home...only been in those once or twice, not too bad IMO.

TSC is ~20 minutes away, Farm & Fleet ~15 minutes and Fleet Farm ~35 minutes. Closest Rural King is 2 hours and 45 minutes away in N IL.

Farm and Home (Do it Best) in Wellington, OH is a great store, but they do seem to charge Nashville prices :makeitrain"

Our closest TSC is a T-Shirt shop IMHO. I never knew that TSC charged differently at each store until recently. A friend of mine bought some pellets at store A, and they were much cheaper at store B, and they did a price match. They told him in the more "affluent areas" they charge more. What a load of BS.

I'll drive 30 minutes to RK every day of the week vs driving 15 minutes down the road to TSC just because of that reason. RK also has much better prices than TSC.

DIB is for sure handy but not really thrifty. I need to stop by there and have a couple of keys made.

Only TSC around here. I pass a couple on a regular basis. I only get bar oil (when its on sale) and now birdseed there. I don't really price shop there, but one is next to Walmart so I guess they have to be cheap to compete. The other is in a more affluent area so I'll have to do some price comparison.

Our TSC is decent. Actually a couple of the employees and the one manager make the store. I'll get bar oil there, dog food and I'll buy work pants when on sale. The pants actually hold up pretty well for the price and what I do.
We have a local feed store where I get supplies for the chickens.
We have a rural king an hour away. I wasn't too impressed when I went there.

$hit seemed to be piled up everywhere, saw multiple dead peeps and ducklings in the cages.

There's an RK about an hour away from here, it's not very clean or well organized. The closest one is very clean and organized. I think a lot has to do with the staff, and management.

Back to the TSC deal nobody here could find. Apparently on that Reddit thread, someone, only one person, found one and got it for the 899 sale price. 1 person. Lol

What a scam! They might as well have put up a sign outside all their stores that said "free beer tomorrow" :picard: I'm going to make a concerted effort to buy from their competitors from now on. We still have a couple local family run places that could use the business.

We only have TS locally, I went in the store at the beginning of November to get bird seed and some replacement lynch pins for the excavator. They have reorganized the store, crammed at least 40% more crap in there. It had been several months since I was last in one, so not sure when it changed. Isles are too narrow to walk past someone else now. Farm/equipment stuff got reduced a lot, added a ton of pet food and clothing. Junk toys and trinkets at the ends of each isle.

Pretty much decided when I walked out of the store I was done shopping there. I’ll order more things online, and get bird seed from the local feed store.

It took the one in my town about a year to get themselves figured out. It was a bit of a madhouse at first. Not bad now other than you can tell it's in an old Kmart building that no one was maintaining the last few years. They have issues with inventory vs floor space. From what I remember working at uncle wally's that's par for retail spot. I don't hang up on facility cleanliness unless at an eatery or medical. I do appreciate a nicely waxed floor due to past work experience. Seems like that's being cut from budgets now. Sealed concrete is gooder enough for us plebs to walk on rather than tile.

There's a KMart turned RK in my town too. It is relatively new and spotless.

On the other side of town there's a RK that's been there for as long as I can remember and that store is clapped out. You can definitely tell the newer store gets inventory preference too.

A little further away is another RK and it is super nice.
