Nice! I got one too. But I spent it in California on one dinner for the family on Tacos and burgers. Stuff is just expensive there.

Just went out and measured. It did warm up overnight, so some settling/melting probably happened - but not too much

    upload_2025-12-3_2-24-8.png

I did go out and snow blow at about 4.5". Just did the driveway and to the mailbox. So today I have to redo that (the road plow went by at 1:11 am this morning), plus do all my paths around the house, around the propane tanks and to the shed. Then I'll be shoveling all day as the roof dumps.

Saw this guy today. Looks like a double beard. Maybe it's just one and split.

Earlier than the past few years. Hopefully next summer is not as dry.

First measurable snow here too. In contrast this is pretty late for here.

Growing up, 50-60 years ago, my dad tended to have motorcycles, go cart and many toys to help spoil us with. One was a Kawasaki 100 trail. For winter he designed and added water skies to the sides so we could pull a toboggin and ride it in the winter. It's amazing we even survived childhood but would never trade it for anything.

I don't know about where you live, or anywhere else really, but I've noticed, and I've had other people mention it too, that the winter seems to be moving ahead in the calendar.

Even my grandfather, born in 1939, said a while before he died a few years ago, when he was young they'd usually have snowstorms in October, but be putting out fish traps (a sure sign of spring) in March. But now, it might be new years before any significant snowfall, but on the other hand we could still have full-fledged winter conditions remain till almost may. I've often pondered the science behind it, but still really have no idea. Well, the climate changes every week here.

We have, like I'm sure anywhere does at times, had years where one good early storm came and it returned to fall weather for a few weeks after, but according to the forecast at the moment, I think winter is setting in.

We have been fortunate here so far. IMG_7282.jpeg And I’m glad. Each time they predicted snow we only got a dusting to 1 or two inches. Just a quick clean up of the steps and walks with the shovel, no need to plow. Getting cold now. Been mild so far. Winter has been coming in later and staying around later for quite a few years. And we don’t have anywhere near the cold we use to have. I don’t like the very cold anyway.

How about the other end? I really dislike the extra hot temp trend. AC cranking away, too hot to work hard outside w/o losing pints of sweat etc. I'd rather have cold.
