My Wif keeps bugging me about all the tree sap on the back deck. "How do you keep tree sap off the deck"? My answer is "with a chainsaw"! One tree in particular drops massive amounts of sap during the hot weather. Both are Doug Fir trees and between 140' to 150' feet tall. Smallest DBH of the two trees is 29"-31" and the largest is 30"-33". Very slow taper to these trees. There are a deck, fences and three houses in close proximity. I will probably get 3 estimates to take one or both down. There is just room to "limb up, top and chunk down". It will require a professional crew of course. I'll have them remove and chip the smaller limbs, clean the larger ones and I'll finish the bucking etc. Probably the most expensive firewood I'll ever get! Will keep y'all posted.
Pretty trees, and it does look like an expensive removal. Definitely not a DIY, at least for most of us.
Wow Russ, you could probably extend the deck a good bit with those two trees. Lotta nice straight, clear lumber in there.
Wouldn't it be cheaper to get some umbrellas for the deck? Yeah, the sap would bug me too. Eastern white pine sap around here can be nasty stuff when it gets on your car, house or anything else. Lots of nice straight splits from those.
