Happy Thanksgiving Day, ya'll. We used to have big meals with both sides of the family, sadly both parents on each side are gone, kids are gone. Miz Carol and I took our son and we went out to eat. Nap and then work 6PM-6AM shift.

No traditions here. Just peace and quiet.

In October when we celebrate Thanksgiving, it is usually going to Mom's for dinner with as many family as can make it. Last few years, it has just been our oldest daughter who joins us. Our family is spread out over the province and the ferry between the mainland and Vancouver Island is bizarre on a long weekend.

We generally attend family gathering north of us. Not a bad drive. Remaining aunt and uncle from mother’s side manage to get a turnout.
My uncle, in his late eighties received from me, his mother’s Bible, her name (maiden name) is printed on the cover. She received it in 1917. His oldest son and DIL are practicing Christians so I presume it will go to them.

Uncle was pleased with the surprise. Hadn’t seen his mother’s handwriting in ages.

he needs cheering, because his dreadful Purdue football team plays my undefeated Indiana tonight and it wont be pretty!

The old tradition was dirt bike woods riding on Thanksgiving morning years ago. That used to be so much fun. We had dinner with the 4 kids and their better halves. New Year's tradition is 75 mile Harley ride (weather permitting). Fingers crossed for decent weather over New Years..

Jerimiah is and will remain a great movie. I remember watching it in a movie theatre back in the early 70's when it was released.

A local deer camp has the tradition of playing it every season. Sadly, one of the main owners died this summer and the camp is going to be sold.

That stinks, I actually watched a documentary on YouTube last week about the Rocking Chair camp up in the UP and the history of it. Sad to see all those abandoned camps up there, it's a long tradition.
