Myself and some long term buddies have been camping in NH since mid-80's. Here's the latest camping trip Fall-2025
Always like to see your pics! I still need to look into renting that cabin. did you help with the stacking or give any FHC pointers? Lol
Another great trip in the book. Glad you got to enjoy some time with your friends, looks like a beautiful area.
2-hours?! These days it would have taken me a week to stack two truck loads of splits. On one of your future trips, I hope to link up with you again. No way I would have been able to drive there this time even if I had known about it. Glad you guys had fun and had decent weather.
We were told they took delivery of 7 cords. The shed holds 12. There were 7 forestry folks gettin' 'er done! 2/19/26 for 4 nights! There was some sleet/freezing rain Saturday night. We left Sunday heading for Lincoln. We came across a big NH DOT dump/plow truck in the ditch. A DOT pickup was there. We didn't stay around to see how they got it out.
New Hampshire has been in drought, with northern NH in extreme drought until the last couple of weeks. For a month or so we had a state-wide burn ban because of the conditions.
I always enjoy seeing pics from these trips Mike. Such beautiful country up there. Peaceful and serene. Looks like that wood wasn't dry enough. How did it burn?
As of July, 2011 New Hampshire has banned the import of untreated firewood unless you meet the requirements for compliance agreements. Out-of-State firewood the New Hampshire Division of Forests and Lands has confiscated and studied has averaged 35 insects per stick of wood.
They are more than welcome to grab some, and I will even GIVE them some of my perfect firewood for free, saving them some Benjamins (yes, insert sarcasm there...IYKYK).
