New model with fuel injection. First I've heard of it. Anyone getting one?

I could see myself getting one when I’m older and wanting more comfort and less fiddling with old technology. I thought it would be a lot more intimidating under the hood, but other than the fuel injection stuff it’s not all that different from carbureted designs.

I'm trying to figure out what it is as far as lineup goes. Does the 562 go away? If they make them to have similar power spec as the 572, does the 572 go away? (5.2hp vs 5.8hp) Is there a 70-72cc variant coming because I'd rather wait for those. I've read that the Stihl F/I model is somewhat thirsty...so other than being able to say I have one, what is my advantage for buying the 564?

I haven't heard if Husky is going to maintain the 562 or not. As for the 564, it is listed at 5.4hp: I can't see Husky getting rid of the 572xp because of the 564xp. Just because the 564 has 5.4hp doesn't mean it would handle a longer bar well like the 572 can. upload_2025-11-11_14-54-22.png

I will wait for a 70cc version of FI chainsaw to appear. Also IMHO a fuel injected chainsaw should sip less fuel than a carb version.

It is a gas guzzler, but oh boy can it cut wood. Ran it for a few hours this afternoon.

No. I would port the 400 first. I've heard its one of the best Stihl's to port.

Can you get more wood cut on a tank of fuel with your 500i say than your 400?

Ive never really timed it. The 400 has a WCS bark box muffler to increase performance, but even with hearing protection its increasing my ear ringing I bought it with a few upgrades a few years back and will be returning it to OEM soon.

The 500 with a 20" bar and a nice sharp chain chows through logs.

I cut PT for a guy in his wood yard and can go through a couple gallons of mix in a days worth of bucking.

20 inch bar, on a 500I ?? Did you change to 8 pin sprocket? I bet that thing is like a laserbeam with a 20 on it. And yes get it ported and the 400 also.
