Got that empty hole in the shed full. Managed to squeeze 5 face cords of oak in there. It will sit for 11 months then sell it.
Some of this oak is already 20-25% moisture.

I just decided I’m going to use the money I make from firewood sales will be reinvested in another saw.
    I’m craving a 24” bar. Should I wait for a Stihl 400.1 or wait for a Husky 564 XP?

All opinions on what saw to get are welcome. I’m not even sure I can get a 24” bar that utilizes .325 chain.
    I have research to do.

I really like the Stihl MS400 we got, especially after huskihl puts the Xtra Sausage sticker on it.

    25" 3/8 Stihl RS
Should be able to get a 25" .325 bar if you want.

This is the XS400/25" bar running with the Echo XS4910/20" bar, .325 chain on it.

A very busy day and it got up to 67F here. I cut up a red oak from the neighbors woods that fell down in July.
Got 37 big rounds out of her plus a dozen or so pieces of limb wood.

    IMG_3917.jpeg IMG_3918.jpeg

I cheated and split it in the shed with the hydro. It is all stacked safe and sound at the my monster woods pile. 3 trailer loads.

Not sure what brought it down there were no ants or green veins or punk. It was very heavy/green.

And to top that off a new FBook customer just left with 4 face cords of dry oak on a borrowed trailer. I had to air 3 of the 4 tires up on the trailer. They were a little soft. Maybe now I can afford a new pair of gloves.

What does the collective say shall I retire these?

I can't compete with your gloves but I feel your pain. I added a pair of jersey gloves inside mine. Mine are still in the pre-tape stage. A little trick I learned in the Air Force.

The last of my two new FBook customers just left. I have sold 15 face cords of dry oak. I only have 1 face left and a repeater is coming Wednesday for it.

    IMG_3924.jpeg

Gee, I wonder what I can put in that empty spot in my shed?

I have approx 15 FULL cords of mostly oak at the monster woods pile. All split into large chunks. But it’s in the high 20’s in moisture. It needs time. Wife has already taken down the FBook posting. After Wednesday I will 100% out of for sale dry oak.

I’m happy to be done dealing with FBook people
not all of them are timely or honest
They can’t even back their trailer or truck into my shed
I just say “get out I’ll get it in”

they just watch me with their tail between their legs,,,,
