Wood ID?

So, I found this wood on FBook marketplace about 2 miles from my house. The lady said the town cut it down and she didn’t know when they were coming back to take it away, in case anyone wants it. I went and took some. Can anyone id it? (just the fresh cut rounds). Thanks.

 

Maple of some sort. Im thinking Sugar Maple but its been years since I cut any.

 

I’m seeing Sugar and Red Maple. Good score!

Thanks, Mike. Yeah, I might go back for more tomorrow. The lady messaged me today that guys came back today and cut down more trees. It’s close enough to my house, so I’ll do a drive by and assess the situation.

I went back to get more wood from the same place I got it the other day, but as I'm about to leave my house, I see a tree service truck down the block, so I walked over to see what they had. The guy said, "Oh, you should've come sooner, we just shredded a whole hickory tree" But, they still had a couple of rounds left. (those are the 5 rounds to the right of the white 2x4s in the pic).

 

Looks like Japanese maple leaves.
