    That is when the fire has just begun.

    I've said this before, but when my OWB was idling, there was no smoke visible from the stack. When the damper opened and the fire flared up, smoke was there for just a little while. I told this to a work partner of mine and he called BS on me. I invited him and the boss over one day (for something else) and the two of them actually had to open the door on the OWB to see for themselves that there was indeed a fire!

    Dry firewood, my boys.....:thumbs:

    Yes, and when I close down each year I cost the inside with motor oil, so first fire up a little extra smoky.

    today helped pal with shoulder season load and cleaned up some junk and a surprisingly decent dead ash. Shoulder season load in position

    I would do the same thing with mine.

    The people that bought the old place with the OWB were from california. I don't think they ever did anything with the OWB!:picard:

    I think the grown up son that lived still lived with Mom was more interested in the legality of pot. Go figure.

    I left a little bit of wood (I think maybe 2 cord) for a starter for them, but.....:doh:

    I wonder if they even drained it since they didn't use it?
