Looks like a good outing again. I was going to get the splitter out but it started warming up early so I talked myself out of it

 

Yes, unseasonably warm today. We had 83. Glad to be in the thick woods in full shade.

Second Tuesday in a row I took off “work” to help dad with firewood. Good quality time. Got all this oak split and partially stacked. Split like a dream! We stopped here for lunch.


Big ol heavy beast.


Continuing to stack 5 splits wide on these pallets.




Threw the towel here.




All that’s left is the cherry and ash.

Those are some great looking trees compared to what I get to deal with.
I’m into a sweet score right now but it doesn’t have the Goldilocks quality of those trees!

 

Had lunch with them both, definitely value their company. My mother bought me some apple sausage from the local store as payment for the labor. Not near as good as what you got here in PA but it’s still Have to get a cherry fire going and cook them over that with some pecan chunks. Maybe tomorrow. Still some great days left in the season.

 

This is why I can snob species that I don’t feel like messing with. Great place to heat with wood.

 

Perfect day for making firewood and some perfect firewood was made from the looks of it.
