Yes. Russia had the T34 as its main battle tank.

They haven’t been communist since 1991. They’ve gone through that experiment and know firsthand what it’s like to have a civil war, totalitarian surveillance state, mass state sponsored kidnapping/forced labor, collectivization of the farms followed by famine, dismantling every institution, all to find out that slaughtering the monarchy, burning the churches and having a centrally planned economy didn’t solve the core issue of income inequality. If you’re into traditional values, their Orthodox Church traditions trace their roots back to the time of the apostles. They were our staunch allies in WW2 then the moment the dust settled and we had a formidable economic competitor on the world stage, the collective west demonized them overnight. And all we do here is reduce those people to downtrodden alcoholics living in post-Soviet squalor, suffering for lacking our brand of democracy which neither the CIA nor MI-6 have been able to bring them through regime change. And that’s the real reason we’re taught to hate them. They refuse to be subjugated to outside forces, having been invaded by Genghis Khan, the British Empire, Napoleon and the Austrian painter. As Churchill put it, Russia is “a riddle wrapped in a mystery inside an enigma”
Oh and they do allow beer.

Keep us updated on the stove project too, I’m interested to see how well it performs when the temperatures drop.
    :salute:

Like I said, I could be Russian happily.
I enjoy their simple and strong approach to weapons engineering.
Russia was only on the allied front after hitler backstabbed them.
I read a lot about WW2 and really enjoy the way the Soviet war machine operated.
Very simple, very brutal, lots of guts

I know very little of modern day Russia.
I know on paper they stopped being communist right after the wall fell.

But if I'm to be honest I even see the USA turning down the communist path (makes me sick)
We're not that far off, i would say at best we are fascism pretending to be capitalism.
    Definitaly not a "antifa" guy.
But our current government ( both parties) commit some very very communist actions

I apologize for kind of derailing your thread further. It's going to have to get redirected anyway because we're walking a fine line at this point. This sort of stuff is better suited for PM's
