....since I posted much related to tree stuff but it's been pretty much nonstop.....lol

This past weekend was no exception, other than the fact that the job was over 50 mins away from home and I did the work solo, and had to make two round trips to get everything home.

Did a full removal of two big standing dead oak trees for some good friends. One was a big white oak covered in vines, the other was a big black oak. Took the entire load of white oak to a friend who had a bout with cancer a while back, he was ecstatic getting that load of wood! And ended up taking 5 big black oak logs home to process for wood for the pizza oven next year. Both trees were around 65'-70' tall and 3.5' diameter at the base. And rock solid inside!

It was a nice fall day to do the work, take a look at the pics and enjoy! Not the best pics as they're all screenshots from some video I took.

This big white oak had a hard lean the opposite direction I wanted the fall (into the woods), so I rigged it with a 3-to-1 and pulled it into the yard. This tree made alot of work cleaning up the vines.....but I got it done.

The black oak favored exactly where it had to go so it was a quick notch and drop, but I did drive it over with wedges as I kept the hinge a little fat (not knowing how good the wood was in the middle), these trees had been dead quite a while

Did I ever tell you guys and gals how much I love that little skiddie? It's set up with lots of counterweight and handles these logs with ease. Here she is sitting with the black oak logs I kept for myself.

The load of white oak I gave to my buddy ready for the nearly hour long drive home.....trailer was stuffed full.

Pile of top wood I bucked and piled up at the edge of the woods foe the homeowner to use in his firepit....

    Nice job!

I noticed how you were using the skid steer at the gun range GTG. Very useful and an adept operator.

Good work, man! Looks like a solid day of tree work, and those are some beefy trees.

It's a game changer for these jobs. I even figured out a way to use the bucket as a rake for sticks and brush and quite effectively so!

They most certainly needed gone. I was glad to have it go smoothly without a hitch, especially being I was alone on the job.

Monster trees are right up your alley. Nice work getting them down safely and one lucky buddy getting that sweet white oak.

Always enjoy your threads Scotty.

Everyone admired the take downs. I was looking at the fall colours on the trees in the background. We don't get much fall colour around here because of all the evergreens.

It's not been the most colorful here this year due to severe lack of rain for several months over late summer but still some colors to be had. Lots of leaves just browned and fell off.

Still waiting on a few more hard frosts and a good freeze or two to knock the leaves down for the winter.
