Yup learned that 7th grade shop class and few years helping a buddy with wrecker service. 1/2 calls were accidental lock outs
Ive used a paint stir stick and a coat hanger before too...just break the stir stick into pieces to make a stack of "shims" Those little air wedges with the squeeze bulb are slick too...
Maybe 20 years back i locked my keys in the work PU. Called roadside/AAA. Guys shows up and really stuggled to "break into" the truck. He was literally laying on his stomach on a ladder that was on the racks while i held the wedge almost all the way down to open the passengers door. The guy proceeds to say "ive broken into $80,000 Mecedes easier than this" in his heavy NYC accent. I guess manual locks are the way to go if you dont want your vehicle broken into/stolen.
Too many wires to electric locks, windows, etc. - most folks won't try that now because of collateral damage. Some cars have metal bars built into the doors to prevent such shenanigans.
