20 dollar frisbees are still less money than golf.

That is what my wife likes about it. Typical greens fees around here is anywhere from forty to fifty five dollars

So my wife's aunt passed away today. Well get more details but we're definitely going to be at her celebration of life. We might take the train to California. I can work on the train with the Wi-Fi. Flying right now is kinda ridiculous.

Very sorry to hear about anybody passing away.Especially family. How many hours would you have to ride on that train?

    Sorry to hear that.
My aunt and uncle used to ride the train out to Kansas and Colorado to see their kids...they seemed to enjoy it.

    Condolences for your loss.

Air travel has been stupid nearly all year with the various happenings. I'm seriously considering driving to KS when next I go to see my family. I mean, on a good travel day, it takes 3 flights and 12-14 hours to get from point A to point B. When they cancel a flight, spending the night (and all the next morning) in the same airport aren't fun. Not to mention, that last time they could only get me to Boston (unless I wanted to hang around Reagan for 3 days - literally), so I had to hire a car to get back to Manch airport to pick up my vehicle. In those times, it ends up being about 31-35 hours of "travel".

Yeah Auntie Di was an amazing person.
51 hours from Chicago to Emeryville ( San Francisco) yeah, it takes longer than driving, which is 32 hrs.. but no driving, less stress, no hotels needed, you can sleep and the train keeps going.

Thank you all for your kind words.

The good news is that I will certainly meet my brother in law, and possibly my in-laws.

So total trip time, if you include stopping to sleep, buy fuel, get food, rest stops, etc, is shorter using the train, correct?

I guess that I’m on the other side of the discussion. Would rather leave the clock alone and pick daylight or standard time and be done with it:)
