I need help! I have a Country wood stove with a glass door.. The label says the model is Striker and the serial number is 50 3870. I suppose it’s a Striker S160gl. There is no metal baffle plate. Instead, there are 5 fire bricks on top. These rest on the metal air tube (with all the holes in it) in the front of the stove and they rest on top of the firebricks in the back. On top of the bricks that apparently serve as the baffle, there is cloth baffle. Also, when I was taking things apart, a 2” x 6” copper colored plate fell down from the right side. So…I ordered a cloth baffle to replace the destroyed old one. I assume that when I receive the cloth baffle, I will carefully place it on top of the fire bricks where it was before. However, I have no idea what to do with the small metal plate. I don’t know if I should just center it, side to side on top of the fire bricks or if it should go on top of the cloth baffle…or somewhere else….or if it’s needed at all. There is no clip or apparent location for the metal piece. It’s about the same length as the diameter of the exhaust pipe at the top of the stove…I could jam it in there if necessary but there’s no indication that it should be there. Also, all the diagrams I can find indicate that this stove should have 3 of the metal air tubes but there is no clip or apparent place where 2 more would go...and the small metal plate is not mentioned at all.
I wanted to give you the manufacturers number but only distributors, and many near Seattle, I'd call where it came from or the nearest dealer and ask (link below), also we'll see if someone here is familiar with your stove. Husky Man ? Where to Buy - IronStrike
I am not familiar with that particular stove, but many/most stoves that have the insulation blanket on top of the bricks/baffle, have a metal weight right under the flue connector to keep the blanket from getting "sucked up" by the chimney...I would think that is what you have there, especially if it has some weight to it (like 1/4" thick?) I know Drolet literally uses the blank cutout from when they cut the hole in the top for the flue connector. So you have 2 extra air tubes too? Maybe I'm misreading what you are asking...
Woops I posted this in the wrong thread Manual https://ihp.us.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/09/900901-00_C_IRN_S160GL_Wood_Stove_EN_IICO.pdf
We have a Country brand stove, and have had great luck with it, but the only work that I have done to it is replacing the blower motor once or twice, more of a pain getting the stove out to work on it than changing the motor, that is pretty straightforward Some of our brick, mainly the floor of the stove is getting to where it should probably be replaced, but I haven’t been brave enough yet to take it out. There are different sizes, and I haven’t figured out yet what, where or how to order them. Wish that I could be more help, but I don’t even have an owner’s manual for our stove Doug
As long as they are the typical 1-1/4" thick firebricks, you can get a box of 6 from TSC (or wherever) for $25 or so, then the ones that need customized can easily be done so with a $20 diamond blade on an angle grinder...firebrick cuts like butter...they do not have to be precise either, even brand new the bricks fit loosely to allow for expansion
