It is definitely full. It was only a few miles from home, but I'm glad I got it in 1 trip.

Yesterday I spent the morning cleaning my chimney liner and firebox. Heating season will be here soon and I love burning wood to supplement our natural gas usage. Most difficult part of the cleaning process with the set up we have is removing and replacing the air tubes, bypass plate, firebricks and damper plate/yoke. I would love to watch a professional do it once and I might learn some tricks. I got about triple what come out last year. I know I burned a lot more wood than the season before. All of it was fine dry particles and I think it is the oily/flakey stuff that starts a chimney fire. Shop vac has both a HEPA Filter Bag and a HEPA Filter, it is used to catch most of the stuff that would escape the plastic. Then I use my ash shovel and pail to remove the bulk of it. I also cleaned the glass and hearth.

I'm a nerd and put together a wood burning strategy based on the available seasoned firewood I have in stock for this year. We're getting closer, dipping into the 50s later this week.

Were all nerds here in some way shape or form. Ill admit it too.

Now if you broke it down day by day then you're a true nerd :nerd:

    Great chart BTW!

IMG_9027.jpeg IMG_9043.jpeg Stumbled upon FHC while searching online how to finally get myself off buying split cords. The next day I went out and bought my first chainsaw; Stihl MS261C!
Last night I took down this standing dead White Birch in the backyard.
Have a couple giant deadfall Douglas Fir in the yard to collect next. One’s gotta start somewhere and I’m just feeling relieved to finally starting this FHC journey.

    Welcome to the forum dogtooth.

Nice load of birch and you now have a really good saw. I've had that saw for several years and love it. I'm sure you will too.
