Good load . GREAT looking truck. It told me it wants taller side boards . Being a flatbed guy at heart. Flatbeds communicate with me The only reason I still have a pickup bed on my truck is , I promised my wife I would finish her bathroom BEFORE I put the flatbed on my truck. And , I've already got the flatbed.
Today's loads . Truck has a good bit more than a cord on . Trailer might be a cord . But maybe not also . It doesn't matter with the trailer load as it is my own stove's hoard. Short butt's from the stroker processor.
Those oddball chunks look dense. Seeing the colors on your birch and aspen trees, with gray skies in the background is a good reminder that weather is heading this way soon too.
Truck is only on F250 with no over load springs. For some reason this truck has never had any power. 351 and 5 speed. The previous owner said that it's been under powered the whole time that he had it.
Does it go fast ? It may be tall geared in the rear end . Tho usually the dual rear axle is lower geared than the single rear wheel axle . . ???? 351 isn't a huge motor . I have one in my 90 F250. It also has no over load springs . But a set of Timbren's would help a lot .
Today's loads 2 cord total . But, I must have caught t stick or something on the way out of the timber sale . By the time I got to the mainline of the mine road . One of the trailer tifes was flat. And the spare was flat. I left the trailer in the timbersale and came out with just the truck load. Bummer for me . !
Used the 455 Poulan Pro all day . Burned 3 tanks limbing and bucking. It's kindof a gas hog . And it has the 50 year old technology . So it's good and heavy . But , it's got lots of luggin torque . Running a 28 inch Husky Light bar on it with full comp 3/8 Husky chain and an 8 tooth sprocket . It don't light the world on fire . But it gets the job done . And it's fun to run . Funny thing is . 40 years ago , I was running basically the same saw . A p42 Pioneer with 28" bar . 3/8 . When chasing under towers. Loggin in Southeast Alaska. Funny tho , those saws seemed a lot lighter
It's kinda that way with my little 251 Stihl. I've done A Lot of cutting with that little saw and enjoy running it. It's nothing to brag on . But it just keeps making me money. Nice and light. Doesn't burn lots of fuel . And , doesn't cost a lot to replace. And , I've had it since 2015. So it's really in the bonus mode for production profit. But , it does NOT like hit weather !
Half cord load of mulberry going out tomorrow. Wipes out my bulk inventory of it. Maybe 3-4 wheelbarrow fulls on hand. Kind of a rare tree around here. Rarer to score any..
