Glad you didn't get stung and then gave them something to drink.
I laid this oak 4x4 in the yard about 3 weeks ago. I carried it to the tractor shed today and noticed these termites looked thirsty, I guess the cocktail of brake parts cleaner straight was a bit strong for them, they passed out almost immediately...:thumbs::whistle::whistle: 20250902_132356.jpg

I reckon I'll be bringing some wood to the deck anytime now.

I'll probably bring smallish chunks 1st. I have plenty.

Its been a dry summer, haven’t gotten more than a few inches of rain. I was planning on getting after it this weekend. It’s supposed to storm today into tomorrow!

Likely a black rat snake then? They will make that odor when picked up or messed with..we’ve done battle with them for years in the chicken house:mad:If found elsewhere we let em be.

Seeing that slide every year has become something akin to watching the Canada geese flying southward in a V overhead. :loco:  It means the time is almost here...

Did the slide maneuver at my sister's place yesterday...probably close to 2 cords in.
Would like to find a slide without the humps...the humps kinda make things go flying...

Progress on the somewhat neatly piled wood stash is making progress despite the never ending baseball, dance ,soccer, Girl Scout and other school events. I do enjoy them too so it’s worth it. IMG_5255.jpeg I was feeling better about it till I looked at the pic! lol

    IMG_5256.jpeg Bark Mountian is growing.

While I enjoyed watching my kids @ sporting events, I do not miss all that running around.
I didn’t touch the bark mess yet. I still have more to bring in so why shovel snow while it’s snowing.

I just push it into a pile and shovel it in the stove a lil at a time.

I did that last year. I don't think I'll do that again, though.

I save the larger pieces of bark to burn but the fine stuff gets spread out under some of my pine trees that are showing roots.
