Funny, harmless prank but what a waste of time trying to figure out who did it and how to "help" the squirrels. "They seem to be unharmed". Good. Leave em alone. They're just tree rats. Obviously animal control has nothing better to do.
Supposedly, paints and even hair dye that may or may not be safe for humans can be toxic for animals.
