What's up today (bullchiting) thread.

We had 24 people show up; 5 more had made plans previously.

Great company, visiting and games. Burgers, hot dogs and pulled pork were the main choices along with plenty of sides and very tasty hors d'eouvres.
Only had one person walk through the patio screen door!

Poor dogs were on high alert all day! Everyone wanted to pet the bernese mountain dog but he was having none of it!

 

yes, not a good situation at all. Hopefully doesn't happen again anytime soon.

That's not good at all. Hopefully these people have better luck but only time will tell.

 

Well we survived the 5 hour car ride and we didn't kill one another. Went and bought some lumber for a set of wedding gift corn hole boards. Also some barnwood for a wedding backdrop.

 

Drinking $6.00 draft beers...can't help think I ng every 4 beers = 30 box of Blue Smoothies!

 

Thanks Dennis. It's been a long journey. Fortunately the wife is right beside me kicking azz also. She is down 65# and looks amazing.

I bought a 25 oz Kona beer while we were in vacation and it was 16 bucks. That was a whole 30 pack of Hamm's in itself.

The rain was so needed! I hope they can get those fires out!

 

We have been in a heat wave for about a week. Last night I was woken up by thunder and lightning. Fearing wildfire from lightning strikes I stayed up and watched the lightning from our back patio sliding window. One bolt came straight down and I could tell it hit the ground because there was flash at ground level. I couldn't see the area where it hit but it looked to be maybe a couple miles away. Soon after I smelled smoke. The strike caused a grass fire that quickly expanded to 52 acres before fire crews got a handle on it. Thank you fire crews on the ground and in the air!

 

At least it didn't go further than that.

 

Yeah it's crazy the heat wave out west and it's just sitting there. My oldest brother lives in Portland and they had a couple of 102° days. That's like unheard of. Then here, it's kinda chilly. It rained overnight which we needed. The heat from out west will get here eventually, but apparently not by this weekend.

 

Got a few more dying ash trees CSS over the last week. Finished burning the tops last night before the weather changed.

The old fire pit has been getting a workout thanks to those dammed EAB bugs!

 

Beautiful morning here at the country club. Supposed to rain tomorrow. May have to drive the truck. First time in 3 weeks. Going to hit 3,000 miles on the new bike on my ride home today
