I saw this ad for free wood (tree of heaven) on the other end of town on Craigslist last night. On the way back from taking my kid out to ride his minibike I swung through to see if it was still there. Luckily it was, and I had just enough room in the bed to fit it. I’ve only gotten TOH once before a couple years ago, so although it’s nothing special it’s a bit of a novelty score.

Better than tree of Hell (gum)

Don't mind some TOH now and then. Mixes well in bundle wood. Now that I think of it, there's not a piece to be found in my current inventory.

Offer stands for you too Brad. Have at least one fairly large TOH left standing. Maybe two. Time to make it go away.

Easily accessible? Were those on the edge of the field?

Yep, just took a ride out for inventory :) Three decent sized trees still standing. I know there’s a fourth in the woods which I could cut and bring home in a matter of minutes.

Disturbed my pets eating. These two little groups been hanging around the house all summer. Never usually see them hanging together tho. Odd the color variation between the two.

You weren’t kidding. That’s a lot of wood there. I’d take a ride out and grab a load if it’s getting composted anyway.

We have been watching a doe with twins on and off all summer feeding in the hay field across the road. Today I noticed their coats seem to have changed from what it was a few weeks ago to blend in with the color of the hay in our current dry situation.

See if you and Brad want to do it at the same time. Or I can drop a couple and log em to the side. Not sure I want to drop them all at once and then have nothing to do with them. Can always use a little filler in the general cordage, not sure how fast it rots in log form. Holds up fairly well once split IME. Whatever floats your boat.

Interesting. Only difference between the two groups is the light colored doe and fawns stay even closer to the house/field. The darker ones are a little more elusive and come out more at night/stay further in the woods. I’m not sure if the spike buck is a new addition to that group. To be honest whenever I see them I avert my gaze and go on about my business,,,,sort of lets them know I’m not a threat.

Reach Down is one of my favs. Chris Cornell and Layne Staley were amazing. Definitely gone too soon. Have you ever listened to any of those isolated vocal tracks?

Sure have. Those guys were on another level with the range they had.

Few weeks ago I pre-ordered a vinyl pressing of Mother Love Bone’s Apple. I’m sure you’ve listened to that too. I remember MTV breaking the news of Andrew Woods death and the formation of a new band with most of those bandmates. Bought it right away. Ten was a big hit.
