My aunt worked at a movie supply store in Philadelphia in the 30's (1930's that is) and she met the Three Stooges when they came in for a promotional appearance. They trashed the store. She also met Clark Gable at another promotional appearance - he did not trash the store, just stole some hearts.

Not in our yard unless the girls bring their dogs over. 3 dogs back we took an elderly dog from one of Lou Ann's cousin. They were moving to town and the old dog wouldn't have been happy. She was supposedly "uppity/snoooty/one owner dog and Les was the owner". Before I knew about all of this, we were there and he let her (Sam) out of her kennel and she came straight to me and sat down looking at me. I petted her and talked to her and all afternoon she was my shadow. So when I heard the story at supper, told them we would take her. Well she was kennel trained and once let out was taught when she was a pup to poop in tall grass (edge of field, field, etc). Consequently, Sam taught our young dog this habit. That has carried on to the current dog, Bear, pooping in tall grass only. Dang it is nice, never see dog poop in the snow either. I am blessed.

I've heard of dogs owners being that lucky.

Ours use the woods about 50% of the time; the lawn is the other 50%.

Back in the 50's we would pick those and dip them in kerosene and light them. They made excellent torches, especially for kids in first and second grades. That would have been me.
