Don't often hear that term Termination dust. Around here it means the winter shutdown in the woods if too much of it piles up.
And with an inside temp of 68f you lit off a fire? With overnight temps in the mid 30's here, windows are still open overnight. House cools down to 68 but didn't do anything about it. Plenty of fires in the future for me! One overnight house guest commented last night that the bedroom "is always cooler". He also asked if we used the furnace when I told him the last overnight's temp was 36. 99 laughed and just said no.
At my hunting cabin overnight, it was 45 outside and 57 inside. I started a little, short lived fire in the woodstove to take chill off and heat water to do dishes. Brought inside temp to 63. Yup! and it felt good.
Welcome from sunny and cool Muskoka On. Beautiful fall day here temp is about 45f going up to around 70f, no fires yet, temps in our region are to get up into the mid 70’s during the next couple of weeks. Went to a friends for a campfire last night, back deep in his 200 acres on a big pond, it was really nice. Enjoy the long weekend!
Not everybody can enjoy the cool or cold temps. I used to thrive on them but over the past several years my tolerance lever for it has dropped a lot. I have no problem keeping my house temp above 70.
Currently 48 windy and wet with periods of rain or mist. We have already had our high temp of the day; temps will be falling throughout the day. Heck, I'll bet that there is even a wind chill today!
