Well I will be Burlington , Vermont for two weeks on a work detail. Has any went to the Woodstock soapstone factory while in Vermont? I would love to do a visit there.

Perry, It is a good place to visit and I highly recommend it. However right now there may not be a lot going on as they are waiting on a shipment of cast that somehow got waylayed on its way across the pond. But you would probably get a good tour of the factory and meet the owner, Tom, who is a great guy. Also Lorin who really runs the office. And while there you might check to see how they are coming on the rebuild of my stove. With luck, I could be there picking up the stove when you get there! Keep in touch.

I also hope you make it to Walt's GTG again in October.

Sounds great, I have always wanted to go there. And have a great opportunity to visit. I need a catalytic combuster for my fire view. Would love to meet you backwoods.

My wife and I took our anniversary trip out that way a couple of years ago. We arranged it with Lorin, but we took our Ideal Steel back to have it refurbished after owning it several years. They had made a couple of upgrades since ours was the first generation. We took a couple of tours of the factory - once when we dropped off our stove, and several days later when we picked it back up!
