Please note WW pointed out a change in her flue system namely the wall coming down. I am not doubting what you say but Dorlet knows their device and while WildWest knows her device it is still results will vary because it is operating on its' own terms. I think all three of us who commented were once on hearth.com.

On the burn pot, the hard build up I need to chisel off is on the top of the burn pot where the pellets burn. I think this is because we use almost exclusively hardwood pellets- we're not able to get softwood pellets around here in PA! I believe your pellets are softwood out there, so I'll bet your burn pot stays cleaner and doesn't need this scraping usually. But I lift the burn pot out as it's easier to work on outside the stove. And with the burn pot out, I do vac inside the chamber below it (vacuuming around the igniter).

I'm sorry I forgot to mention one other weekly cleaning step I do! If you pull out the ash bucket, there is an access door to remove and vacuum behind- it's secured with a wing headed bolt. This is the bottom of the fresh air intake chamber, below the burn pot and igniter. For sure, ash will slowly build up in here over time if it hasn't been regularly cleaned out, and this could affect how much fresh air you're bringing in. I don't think this really needs cleaned weekly, but this is another area to check if the stove isn't burning right.

Thanks and sorry, I did miss this about a change in the flue system! I just caught the newest posts and I haven't been on here all that often- I went back a few pages to try to catch up on the issue but didn't find anything earlier.

Also, I love our stove, but back when I first installed, I did have a few conversations with Drolet and didn't get a lot of advice on getting the stove running optimally- but that could have been a one-off.

Interacting air flow devices like pellet stoves have a lot of external ramifications right jt and all other franken stove operators like Snowy.

Some long ago things learned plugged up by you name it holes in burnpot prevent proper oxygen from getting to the burning pellets, take all holes back to the bare metal, now just so everyone knows me uses the hunt and peck typing method (sight driven and am old with lots O'loss of fine motor control and some sight problems), I had a brain blead (stroke) 1966 I sign with an X.

Increasing elevation leads to a lower oxygen level in the burn air.

I have broken both hips on rods now my CCB was making the blood pressure too low giving me the dizzies problem was noted by a classmate of mine who is a RN. The long and short of it is don't just go by the doc. That is only part of it, me now on 81 mg aspirin and a 40 mg Lasix and a D supplement.

The stupid rods makes me into a giant WiFi signal receiver of which I get quiet only when DNS are down, I run sleep deprived mode most of the time.

All hatches must be removed and brought down to bare metal as should all passageways. Then install the hatches, making shire they are tight.

Make sure there is one and only one unit drawing air from the same source.

These are results for Oxygen content at 7300' compared to sea level
Search instead for Oxygen cotext at 7300' compared to sealevel

    AI Overview

While the percentage of oxygen in the atmosphere remains constant at approximately 21% regardless of altitude, the
availability of oxygen at 7300 feet is significantly lower than at sea level.
    Here's why:
    • Decreased Barometric Pressure: At higher altitudes, the barometric pressure is lower, meaning the air is less dense.
    • Fewer Oxygen Molecules per Breath: Even though oxygen still makes up 21% of the air, the lower pressure means there are fewer air molecules overall in a given volume, which translates to fewer oxygen molecules in each breath you take.
    • Reduced Partial Pressure of Oxygen: This decrease in the number of oxygen molecules in each breath reduces the partial pressure of oxygen in the lungs, which is the driving force for oxygen to move into the bloodstream.
    Impact at 7300 feet:
    • At 7000 feet, the effective oxygen level is comparable to breathing air with only about 16% oxygen at sea level, according to the Center for Wilderness Safety.
    • While 7300 feet is slightly higher, the same principle applies, and the oxygen availability will be reduced compared to sea level.
In simpler terms, you're taking in less oxygen with each breath at 7300 feet compared to sea level, which can lead to symptoms of altitude sickness for unacclimatized individuals.

Needless to say but the entire flue must be spotless and any critter screens as well. As chevymn99 would say K C doesn't just stand for Kansas City it also stands for Kitty Cat or Keep Cleaning. Always use an OAK never INDOOR Air even a window can act as an unreliable combustion air source. Pay attention to prevailing wind direction you can even reverse the airflow. Drawing pictures don't show it all.

I've been reducing my Na to keep my CHF at Bay. Read the labels, Tacos are bad but one can use a 0mg home made taco seasoning, low sodium taco shells, low sodium salsa to chop the hell out of Na consumption, For example I have cut down my Na from over 260 mg for my Maple Syrup brown sugar to 75mg for same my usual oatmeal is now quite flavor-able at 150mg.

Haven't seen the redwing blackbirds in a week. Same for a few other species, Grackles and tree swallow along with the bluebird numbers seem far less too. Seems a bit earlier than last year.
