Around here it would be the invasive mussel inspection station.

Do you have zebra mussels there or some other kind of invader?

Definitely. The lake has had them for well over a decade. The problem is way better than it used to be

How do you know that for sure?
Maybe they tied into something existing?

Because it was just grass prior to this. It's right next to "my spot" where I park. This is my local go to lake, been there 12 times this year, and prior to last weekend there was just grass there. Here's a pic from a previous lake day. It's the grass spot to the right of my truck. Covered Self pay parking fee pole shelter? At the reservior we moved from there were metal columns to fill out a slip and put $$ through a slot for parking. Maybe anchor in the columns in the pvc holes?

It's a fee based park, but it's all on line.

Whatever it is, looks like someone's gonna loose their parking spot.

Wonder why they didn't put it in across the sidewalk, in the grassy square of that other parking lot?

No. There will be no loss of parking spots for the trucks and trailers. It's part of why it's a public park. Lake access, and so many spots. It used to be a resort, I went there as a kid and you'd have to pay a day pass fee to use the beach. When the county bought the land it was meant to open up the lake for public use, including the 14 spots for truck and trailer parking.

Will be interesting to see what it turns into.

Yes. That is one poor finish. Never cleaned around the forms either. Maybe it was DIY or a volunteer guy. If so, oh well. Maybe he is doing a good deed.

He mentioned the County bought it. Here and Colo anything govt has very strict requirements. I find the whole thing curious beyond the purpose of it.

They'll probably be back to jackhammer some of that nice new concrete to put the right pipe in the right places.

You'd be shocked if you knew how much infrastructure is under grass that looks undisturbed.
Maybe that's why they put the pad there, untilies directly under it.

Based on my knowledge of how govt. works and seeing the quality of the work done.............

I will say the people doing the work had no idea of what they were doing, installed said pad in wrong location and it will be removed, sod replaced. Then same people will install a new pad in the correct location doubling the cost of project.
The new pad will look no better and the govt. oversight will stand there, look at it and say it is what it is.
Waste your tax dollars and move onto the next phase and repeat above process.
When finished the project will be 3X over budget and substandard to the prints provided

Around here it would be a pad for a water pump station for cleaning boats of invasive plants. We have Hydrilla problems and I’ve heard all state owned boat launches are building wash stations.
