Those must be handy Brad! The extender worked well for me. Just can’t see anything you are hauling back there.
Having used a ladder for years they were the norm on a work truck. Ladders still go up there, just not as often.
Cold Trigger Finger I messed up, by not thinking ahead. I’m coming to Delta this morning for kids Dentist appointments. I should have coordinated to get a trailer load of fire killed for my bundled wood. I will text you later. We don’t have any in Tok- fire is still going.
Yesterday's 1.5 cord load . As ive been having an impossible time getting the trailer lights to work on my gooseneck trailer . And im totally incompetent at that sorta thing . Ive been hand mucking the wood and skidding out with my pickup. . Still , it only took 4 hours yesterday to yard buck , load and lash this 1.5 cord load . Thanks to God !!!!
Picked up a nice load of ash this weekend. Replaced the 91 F150 with this 06 Tundra and its working well.
The start of a 14 hour work day . 0545 heading to the woods with Little Ox loaded and lashed . And lights on the gooseneck .
And got 2 cord bucked off their rootwads . topped , yarded to the landing. Measured and bucked to stovelength . 16" Loaded and stacked in the truck with 1.5 cord. And delivered to the customer. It was a long day ! And a Busy day. Took 2 , 10 minute breaks . Got home for a late dinner . Then evening chores . I was sure glad the next day was a rest day !!!!
I just have to ask. I have never been to Alaska but have friends that have ridden motorcycles there and remarked how much worse the mosquitoes were. In MN where I live they are the state bird. So how were the mosquitoes working in those woods all day? I have to believe they were awful. How do you deal with them?
Don't think I saw a single mosquito . This year they weren't bad. There is a while in June and July they can be a bother. . When things are growing fast . Now we are into late summer . The fireweed has died off. Sometimes after the first frost , the white socks get bad for a bit . That's why I usually pass on early season hunting.
