We laid laminate flooring on the basement floor. Used the recommended underlayment and yes, the flooring was rated for below grade. The basement does not leak nor does it weep or gain wet spots at all.

I made sure to add an expansion joint. However, the high humidity will case the flooring to expand and ever so slightly, that expansion joint will close up eventually. Unless the de-humidifier does its magic!

We've had that before and I know what it's like, but that isn't it right now.

    Humidity level was lower yesterday.

Got a couple of dying ash trees dropped and bucked up. Actually was still too hot for that type of work. I grounded 3 chains during this event! :headbang:

Spoke with a neighbor afterwards and he said he took a atv ride and saw me cutting and thought "I should ask if he needs help". Smart neighbor.....kept going for his ride!

Brush pile is growing and plans to burn it will have to materialize maybe this fall.

Picked up 3 pallets of wood from the sawmill this morning. Mostly oak and HEAVY. More weight than my truck and trailer could safely handle....but I kept it under 40MPH and made it home alive and didn't wad up the truck. I didn't realize how bad it was until I was past the point of no return.

Okay, hand healed enough to get back on that toilet valve. Then I noticed.... He had clipped the bowl fill tube outside the drain pipe :picard: . Got that back in, adjusted the sharp pokey float back down and it works perfect now. And wow, that Kaboom thing on the back of the tank works GREAT! It's been 5 days since he put it in and the pink ring has not returned :dex:

Also interesting (if you recall the orange ring and breads mold fast here compared to Colo), poor WWW was in the middle of a roof job on a school, freak severe thunderstorm, high winds, tons of rain and hail, water damage to school. Called a restoration service so school would be up an running for class in a few weeks and mold was tested after treatment. Inside the school tested good, and outside in the fresh air, it was higher. I guess that explains the mold here, plus living near a body of water, our doors and windows are open a good part of the year to the outside air.

Getting another Kaboom for the other bathroom.

We got our first rain in 15 days this morning. Not a nice gentle shower. We had a torrential downpour. More expected around lunch time today

Did the first oil change on the Harley yesterday. I've now seen the ultimate level of cheapness. The engine and transmission drain plugs are 1/2 turn plastic garbage. For some reason the primary still uses a metal plug that you need a socket to remove. 20250812_175757.jpg

Sad but we are leaving the UP today. Might be breezy crossing the bridge.

That’s a lot of gobblers running together. Don’t see that very much around here.

We have those self propelled Thanksgiving dinners all over around here now...seen a flock of 21 at work a while back...there were 4 females along the creek this morning, I drove right past them and didn't even notice that they weren't Canadian geese, when I came back by a bit later I noticed what they actually were...just not used to seeing them along the creek like that.

Turkeys have pretty much become a nuisance here. They will do damage to your vehicle if it’s a color that they can see their reflection in. We can only kill 2 a year legally.
