Cruising FBMP, been watching for a deal and found one less than 10 miles from me.

This is a good price compared to what I’ve been seeing. One was a bit over 16’ too.

First stop, dad’s stacks. He’s been using cheap generic tarps, which last maybe a year and make a nasty mess when they break up.

He was extremely happy. Gave him a full size piece and cut one in 1/2, other half going to my son. Boss wanted 2 for the shop roof that’s leaking, so they will be delivered tomorrow. Easy come, easy go. I think I’ll be going back for more soon.
    :D

Fantastic tarps, wish I had more. Begged a neighbor to get me a price for some when he worked for a roofer, but he never did and has since changed jobs.

Good find. Just once I've torn one off which was last year. Cut it up and being used as I type.

Excellent. That’s a good price. You better jump fast if you want more and you’ll always want more ;) I’d call the guy and have him put some aside for you. Now that you’re a customer it should be no problem.

    Nice!
I bought a bunch a few years back from a company that just replaced the roofing on a local dept store...I bought the whole pile! No regrets! The only complaint I had about it is that they didn't do a very good job of cutting it square/straight.
Numerous members here have bought some from me since then...I think it ended up being about $0.010/sq ft

I use them all the time as I am a roofer so I usually get EPDM scraps anytime I want besides that I’ll use the synthetic roofing prep and staple it on my stacks in the winter

I grabbed some back in 1999 as the roofers just wanted to get rid of it. New, unused.

I loaded up my hatchback escort until there was a squat to it.

Stuff is still in the same shape as back then! It is going to outlast me!

At the college I used to work at they used heavy duty vinyl to cover the hardwood in the gym for events other than sports. They switched to carpet squares and discarded the vinyl. I grabbed a bunch. I covered my 12 x 18 barn roof with it about 12 years ago and it's still very much in tact and flexible, not brittle. I've made numerous tarps for wood piles as well.

Really nice find The Wood Wolverine! I’ve been using the tarps from Harbor Freight for several years and since we have no snow load we likely get a little more life from ours but I think the UV from our “Southern Sun” deteriorates them pretty quick too. Agree they become a stringy mess!!

I was really close to getting him some canvas tarps so this find came at a great time.

When I first started hoarding wood, dad gave me a bunch of the rubber piece he had, those are still in the same shape and that’s been about 15 years. I have enough to keep my hoard covered but it’s hard to pass up such a good deal. I’ll definitely keep you in mind Chuck, thanks.

Great find! Those will last you for many years. I have some I have been using for 6 years and they show almost no sign of wear.

    Nice score!
I got mine from a couple different roofs I worked on, none of the others guys on the crew needed them for any thing.
I did have some ants chew a hole or two in one of them. So keep an eye on them if they are folded over.
I've had them for 7 or 8 years and they work pretty good.
They are pretty heavy using them for my holzhausen type stacks.
I also use some steel roofing sheets (3ft x different lengths)
I find the steel roofing lighter and easier to use. I strap them down with ratchet straps.

Bought back one of the 2 I got for boss. Sliced it in 3 5’ pieces and put some grommets in for bungee cords.
    upload_2025-8-9_13-34-18.png
Corners started pulling out on some others I have done so I tried something different. Maybe 2 layers will hold better?

Two might, that’s what I would do. When I started using big tarps on my wood pens I knew there would trouble with eyes. I bought an eye kit like you have (haven’t used it yet) I also bought some large heavy duty tarp clips from amazon. These I’ve used and I haven’t seen one fail yet. Not sure how well they’d grip rubber. I’ll give it a shot later and see what I think. Amazon account doesn’t have a way to share link so screenshot it is
