Not sure how much time I'll be on the forum for a while.

    October 1 begins Michigan's deer hunting season. Last year I could not hunt although I tried. Physical problems kept me down. I hope to make up for that this year but only time will tell. While making the final preparations today to make sure everything is ready to go before daylight tomorrow, it brought back memories. To put it bluntly, I hurt like #$@*. Hopefully in the morning I can be out there.

    One more thing that has gone wrong is vertigo. No doubt most know very well what dizzy is but for sure, dizzy is not vertigo! That is in a different class for sure. So, I won't be climbing into a tree stand before daylight tomorrow but hopefully I can sit in a blind.

    Anyway, the deer season can last until January 1 but by Thanksgiving or December 1, I'm done. By then it is time to start cutting wood!

    Good luck on the hunt! But let the "ornery one" know where you're heading so she can help locate you if you don't show up some evening. It would not be good to lose your balance and get hung up upside down in some darn tree. Take care.

    Take your cell phone with you and leave it on. It has GPS tracking capacity.
    How do you plan to take your deer out of the woods? White tail deer around here can go 100 to 300 pounds. I hope you have a successful and safe hunt.

    It'll be great fun.
    Dress warm !

    Been thinking about a tree house for my moose stand. Was cold (20°s) sitting there at daybreak.
    Think I found where, now just need to figure out how to build it & get the lumber out there.
    8'x8' platform, about 12 to 15' up, walls, roof, heater, soft chair & a fold down bunk with a warm bag & soft mattress :)
    Oh yeah, & a "p" bottle. LOL :thumbs:
