More Maple

This Maple is topped off so after I roll the other Maple down the hill that I bucked up after the Cherry, this will come down.

 

Hard to tell Zap is the maple dead? or top just snapped.
Leaves are changing a good bit there, we're getting a few red maple leaves here and there Dogwoods all a slight plum color now, couple of hickories turning yellow

 

Basod, I'm seeing the same here. Dogwoods are turning and the hickories are getting a little yellow

 

The top was snapped off in the spring of 2013, if I don't get it, the Maple will start rotting from the top down.

 

I've seen that in my woods too. Have a couple with broken tops that turned into giant mushrooms!

 

I might get rained out on Saturday, they're calling for over a inch of rain so it might have to wait until Sunday.

 

That will be some good BTUs for you woodlands. I am surprised that mother nature did not lay that one at your feet for you too. Apparently she tried.

 

Mother Nature put some smaller stuff down just up the hill which I might get before this.

I think that one of the next things I'll do is some stump removal on some older trails along the base of a hill.

 

How do you remove the stumps?
