Ya, I'de just swap the tip myself.
Stihl also has a 3/8 RS Picco chain that I'm running on my 251 . It cuts Great ! And , as it's 3/8 it easy not to get fouled up with mix and match pitches of cgain .

Cannon makes a super-mini for K095 husqvarna that'll run picco, I'd give the .325 RSP chain a spin if I was you, the 550 will have the stones to pull it at that length and it's a very fast cutting chain, smooth for your use too.

The whole point is to have a nice light saw that will do what I want it to. Swapping bar tips is easy as falling off a log. No reason to have someonevdo for me something I've done over a hundred times.

I've ran both and owned one. The Echo is noticeably lighter. The Husqvarna is faster and zippier stock to stock. The Echo will most likely be much more reliable long term as they don't have the bearing failure issue that Husqvarna does in their swedish built 5 series, or the auto tune carburetor. The Husqvarna has better anti-vibe and air filter. The Echos come alive with a muffler mod and carb limiters removed. Still not as fast as the 550 but more grunt. There is a great aftermarket filter kit to address the sub par echo filter.

I can't speak about the Husky 550, only Husky I've ran in years is our stock Husky 55, it did fine with a 20" bar.
I can speak about the Echo 4910/501...they are the same basic saw, difference...501 has captive bar nuts, metal handle and rubber grip on handle. I think the coil wire is different. Engine is the same. 501 is about $100 more. Simple saw to work on.
We have a XS4910, we run 20" bar with Stihl 23RS chain. It has enough torque to run a 24" bar and oil it in probably 20" spruce.

Eggshooterist that is a great comparison between 2 saw choices. Strengths and weaknesses of both with corrective actions for each:tip:

    I know the point.

It's not about if you are capable of swapping bar tips, there are vendors out there that will send you the bar as you request it.

Thank you. That's what he wanted to know. Not what everyone else thinks he should have. Lol

I'm told, by a very reputable saw builder, you can increase the longevity of the Husqvarna saws if you run a lot more oil in your mix. High quality oil. Like 32:1 motorsports oils.

It's just my opinion. I just personally don't care for skip especially on small diameter stuff. Just seems rough on the saw.

Interesting I run all OPE 2 cycle about 40:1 on the following logic, I have seen what lack of oil does to motors. USA won’t allow certain things in without EPA testing, EPA goals is clean environment NOT longevity or performance.

Exactly. I run 25:1 in all my 2 strokes.

    At 25:1 you are
    1. Oiling your engines
    2. Neighborhood skeeter control

Jk, I know it's not that bad with good oil...I run Yamalube 2S at 32:1 sometimes

32:1 is the perfect no math ratio, 4 ounces per gallon, just like 4 quarts per gallon, just saying… I also think the Echo 501 would be a better buy, the Auto Tune seems to be less dependable than a regular carb setup to me in this class saw.

They don't smoke once warmed up with a proper tune. Not with Dominator anyway.

I just wish I had video of the two old-timers that were "helping" my brother and I take a row of large pine trees down for cemetery expansion at their church...both running early/mid 70s Homeys, 16:1 30 wt, both in the gas and for chain lube (which works fine for chain lube) smoking the whole place out!
Plus they had both just got their chains "sharpened" at some local shop...they weren't even cutting little limbs well! (Chain backwards?)
I was running my brothers 470 and limbing 4 trees to their (together) 1! And that was with me taking breaks to get some fresh air out of their smoke cloud!

Ive ran some 30wt in some testing. Smoked and stank. Lol. Smoked a lot.

I've ran canol oil at 40:1. 3 quarts worth of mix in one if my test trimmers a few years ago. That smelled awful.

Owning both I'd pick the Echo for a longer bar. Mki 550 handles better than any saw I'v ever picked up I think, but the speed it has comes at cost of torque. My 550 is muff modded only and it's not hard at all to stall the chain getting greedy with pressure. She does fly though. May have been discussed but likely you'll need to modify a K095 as the Echos use an old Poulan mount.

A 550 is measurably more powerful than a 501 in stock trim, it will also balance a 24" bar MUCH better than a 501, whether or not that matters to the OP is up to him.
