.....but the job we just did the past several days was a big haul of primo wood. Two 14' dump trailers full of white oak and shagbark hickory...... I'll post up some pics later on. Also finally got the HD plastic skids I've been looking for and started splitting/stacking thr pile of locust and applewood some of you may remember seeing at my place during the stone oven pizza night at the Hawg Dayz GTG last month. I'll get some pics of that progress also. That wood, along with what I saved from this weeks' job, will be enough to totally refill what I used all last season and maybe even add another partial season to my woodstacks. I'm gonna need a bigger yard... Hope everyone is having a safe and enjoyable summer, we're inching towards the fall shoulder season!
Ya think “The Guy” of FHC would know the rule Just teasing Scotty; your threads (the ones with pics) are inspiring.
Sounds like some good stuff. You only save the best! Cant wait to see the pics. Don't make me send Eric VW to your place.
Shagbark always gets my attention. If I could pick just one, shag would be it. Looking forward to the .
I'm doing my best to stay ahead of that curve my man, working out 4 days a week.....it ain't easy though!
It's one of my faves as I'm sure you know, but it's hard on chains and heavy as Fook! Thank God I have the little skiddie to help move it around in log form.
Boy that's a good question. HL is up there, but big fat rounds of green hickory, white oak, red oak and especially pin oak are dang heavy also.
Some pics of this weeks job. Those logs are all around 7-8' long. Nice haul fer sure....i kept the stumps too.
Wow...that's a mighty perty pile O btus you have there Scott! The green log weight charts put about any oak and shaggy as heavier than honey locust...live oak is a lot heavier!
Not yet buddy but it's dressed and I've got a full comp chain on it, hanging on the wall in my Basement shop.and ready to go....
Id love to buck some hedge either dead or alive. Cant say I've ever seen one in person. Couple close imitators but not the real thing.
That looks great, you doing it Dixie style now, since you got the machine o help move it. You can move a lot of wood fast that way...
Got all the stumps bucked and split (one big hickory stump a single white oak stump and the big codominant white oak stump). Ended up with this pile of splits just from the stumps!
