I've had "the river" deliver this time or later but leave it down by the road. Mind you I have a 4-500', fully tree covered, downhill slope to the road driveway that I can't see a big delivery truck from the house. Let alone a package by the gate post. :hair:

Fedex has screwed up my plans on multiple occasions even delivering for other than Walmart. This was the last time.

Lol- no. I had enough beer in my belly by that time that I decided I shouldn't engage. I was inside by then and just let it go.

The air and water show was excellent. The lake was calm, but it did dump rain as we were arriving. The boat would've been a wet ride down to the area where the show was, but it would've been smooth sailing aside from that and it dried out really nicely when all of the military aircraft were performing.

We stayed dry under the sportbrella. That thing has saved our bacon so many times, from rain, wind, sun. It's light enough to carry, just like a camp chair.

Something like that used to occur regularly for me with FedEx. Except I would be outside, in the front yard, and I would get a text that they "attempted delivery". I would know for a fact they never turned onto my road - which is not a dirt or desolate road. And, it would be for something stupid and cheap like t-shirts, so it's not like they needed a signature.

Over the last two years they have been better. However, most deliveries don't make it on the promised date, they just don't even bother to tell me it won't make it, or when they will actually deliver - all communication just stops. It's funny, I can jut about predict what day they WILL deliver because it will be the one with the worst weather (blizzard, sleet, flooding - or at least snow or rain). They only deliver on a non-inclement day if they have no choice :picard:.

But, I will say that regardless of who does the route, the drivers have always been good about using a dolly (I buy most heavy and expensive stuff for delivery) and they will put it anywhere I ask of them if I catch them.

A lot of my deliveries don't get here until after 8pm (especially Amazon). Which is not ideal since I'm usually already asleep by then. Fortunately, usually those aren't the expensive items

I think Walmart has reasonably good customer service, but in my experience, everything can turn to crap fast once Fedex picks up the order. I'm sure Walmart has heard many thousands of complaints about them. They are a huge account for Fedex, and I don't understand why they don't make them clean up their act or find another delivery company.

Back in the days when I was employed, I would take more OT in order to help pay for upcoming vacations.

I save it up as comp time, then cash it out yearly for the kids savings.
We'll see how that works out, the oldest seems to be a spender, the youngest a saver...
