If only it worked that way

I wake up early naturally. I haven't used an alarm clock since I started WFH in 2020 (except for catching early flights - I just set it for insurance, don't need it). Before that, setting an alarm was just a formality for many, many years - 99% of the time I was up way before it went off

Parasitic wasps are being tried to combat EAB. I hope it works.

It did it again last night. I don't remember it doing this before. maybe is right about deicing.

It does dehumidify to an extent in the normal setting, but not as a central air system would. The humidity in the house goes up and down depending on what it is doing outside.

I had no AC at all for 38 years, so the humidity was whatever it was outside and never had any issues in any of the places I've lived. I think air movement is more important, and there were always fans going before I installed the mini split.

I did have a portable AC for a couple of years for the living room, which only ran in the afternoon, and I put a window AC in my office summer of 2020 when I started WFH - but those didn't reduce the humidity. I only installed the mini split in 2021 because I would be working from home permanently. The fans are always going on the head units so I have the air movement covered.

EDIT: I don't "keep" the humidity high. At this time of year, the humidity is usually in the mid to high 60's naturally when I keep the temp set point that I am comfortable with - the humidity outside is way higher (when accounting for temperature - like yesterday it was 94* with 63% humidity - which is a much higher concentration of water in the air)

I still have full benefits - even accruing more PTO time while I'm on PTO. A gal I talked to said not all managers will let their people do what I'm doing, but both my managers are cool with it. They are great and want their employees to get the most of all their benefits. Someone else did the same last year - not on purpose but she suddenly realized how big the tax implications were if she got a lump sum payment for her leftover PTO.

More roof framing at the country club job. I'd like to be out back losing a few golf balls. Stay safe and stay cool everyone. 20250717_064020.jpg

Valley Brook. Private club. It's in Peter's Township not far from the National Cemetery by Canonsburg.

The weather idiots have said we were going to have thunderstorms for the last 2 days or so, so I hadn't watered. 90 plus and guess what- no rain! I watered today even though they said rain about 3. It's almost 430 and no rain.

39 years old? That speaks of an expensive thing to own unless you like repairing and continuing to spend dollars on the fixing. But if that is your thing, go for it.

Taking today off. Rented a trencher and buried the boiler line out to the shop. That Thermopex is like wrestling an anaconda.

Just need to make the final connections. Only comes 100 foot rolls so I had to make a splice. Decided to put it right next to the concrete in case I ever have to mess with it, which I highly doubt. I've never had a PEX fitting leak.

I just learned that ice is not a ‘liquid’ at airport security. I was drinking down my water bottle at the first check point and got told that I could keep my ice.
