He has asked me why BL and i simply explain to him i have locust mania. He kinda rolls his eyes with a SEG on his face.

I wasn't expecting more of it and have run into a storage problem (what else is new). I'm moving it to my BL storage right down the street from me which is just for barkless. I don't mix the two when sold in most cases. The barkless is for the upcoming season while this will be for 26-27.

I wonder if BL splits would shed their bark faster stacked in the bark down or bark up fashion?

I dont know. All i know is it reeks something terrible when it loosens up. Why when i get it fresh cut green i try to get it SS and covered ASAP. Last time I let some fresh sit til the bark came off I ended up with several wheelbarrow fulls of it to dispose of. Still have half a cord of that stacked.

Wonder if it will petrify in a top covered stack?

I hate the big rounds as the bark can be 2" thick. I'd love to store rounds somewhere and let it fall off like you did.

Bucked all the BL he staged. 462 ran solo with 20 & 25" bars. Largest BL I've ever cut. 36" at the wide point. 25" bar on saw. IMG_7635.JPG IMG_7636.JPG Brought the hydro and split right onto the truck. IMG_7641.JPG IMG_7639.JPG GIANT creepy crawly found when splitting. IMG_7637.JPG Ill set the hydro to vertical and bust up the huge rounds tomorrow. Few other pieces to split as well. IMG_7640.JPG

Nice work Brad. That’s one big bugatoid. You gonna keep it, feed it, raise it, maybe put a saddle on it?

I tried feeding it to a bird, but it ate the bird instead!

Ive seen plenty of large tunnels while splitting BL. Now I understand why they are so large.

That's great, Brad. A lot of work, but you got plenty of BL now.
    Nice bundle wood splits too.

Yes it is. Problem is this will get sold 26-27 and had to stack it with the barkless even though its not mixed. Split another half cord load today and still some there to split.

In quick conversations with him he said he has another BL job next week. I may need to store some at your place. :picard::stacker:

Stacked yesterdays load this morning. Split more BL this afternoon. Tried going vertical with the hydro and after wrestling one huge round into position and chunking it down I opted to noodle the rest. Split (horizontally) and filled the PU. Ill stack in the morning. IMG_7643.JPG IMG_7644.JPG Still a few chunks of BL left.
