I don't think so, but I'm not a chainsaw mechanic (I mean no disrespect to anyone with that comment) I just hate working on them. I think I either dropped it rough or possibly hit it with the truck last month at a cut.
Yikes, My old 028 had a tire mark down the side from a near miss. Now I make sure where I put them down.
I bought a 241 from an old guy last year that his nephew ran over with a Farmall H...still had tire marks on it! I just replaced the broken top cover and throttle lever, good to go. It came with 3 chains and I'm in it for maybe $120 after replacing those parts, and putting an aftermarket clutch with rim sprocket on it. (OEM very worn...it was his only saw) Opened up the muffler a bit too, since it was already surprisingly loud bone stock...didn't make a huge difference IMO...works good though...it just wishes it was a 261
You can buy all the parts from the Stihl dealer for less than this kit price. That’s all they did is source Stihl parts that were stiffer and spent the 20-25$ to put in a “kit” to sell for 60$
Hey, I’m the generous, helpful sort of guy so I’ll send you $120 and pay shipping to get you a start for your 261
