Saw starts and idles fine, but when I go full throttle in the cut it "rattles" a bit. Something to do with the AV?
I believe I read somewhere about the top cover fastener having issues. You should feel slop if an av spring or cable is broken.
Changing lanes on you. Have you upgraded the AV/suspension system? If not West Coast Saw has a kit for $50-60 that upgrades the springs and rubber to 661 suspension. Take most of the mushy out of it. WCS makes the kits some of the Stihls. I have it on my 500 a few buddies tried mine and I put the kit on theirs. Have it on my 461 also. Let us know what gremlin you find. PSA don't feed after midnight.
Take 5 minutes with a T27, screw driver, scrench, hex, etc and give everything a check for tightness. I’d suspect muffler too.
Maybe vibrating would've been a better term to use. The entire saw does this at full throttle. I hear/feel nothing at idle. If the saw was dropped, moved awkwardly etc. would this damage the AV?
Time for some TLC. Nut and bolt check to start Pull hood and clutch cover and give it the air-hose special ; You know " Dry clean only"
My first thought was...Stihl. In all seriousness, I had the same issue happen last night with my Echo CS590. Runs smooth as silk with a new chain. Under full throttle it has a noticeable vibration. It was 8:00 pm so I put the saw away. I'll tear into it tonight.
Yup. My first suggestion would also be try a new bar and chain. Worst case, at least another bar and chain off of something else
Ran the saw Friday with 25 & 20" bars. Did it with both. Its more of a vibration. Does it at idle too.
Probably just needs a tank pizz revved through? Only legitimate things that come to mind are the clutch assy and bearings. I hope it's neither.
