Thats an old Traxxas nitro 4tec , I am guessing about 20 years if not older. It has the old .15 motor , 2 speed and belt drive. It is in excellent condition. I see them on flea bay for a lot more than what it cost new. I just don't want to use it since they seem to be getting pretty scarce.
Yes. Clubs often suck. Always a know it all. Always a fan boy ect. Its why I'm no longer a member of any gun club and built my own 400 yard range. I will be getting a couple of the gps helicopters. I can fly them in my yard. Planes are out as there isn't enough space. There is a club about 1.5 miles west of me with a big area. Nope. Had my fill of clicks, I mean clubs. Lol
This is what started it all for me. Well, actually, I wanted one long before this from drooling over the sears and wards Christmas catalogs. This was my first. Made by Nikko for sears.
Hey egg, Is that actually a picture of the first. If so, that is awesome. I think I have about 1/2 of mine. It was a Grasshopper if memory is workin".
Well, I placed an order with Amainhobbies.com this morning. 1 esc / brushless motor combo, and the dual motor brushed unit for this monster truck. All the upgrade parts kyosho makes for the ultima buggy I'm finishing up, a lipo battery that fits the kyosho buggy and the vintage monster truck. A futaba receiver to pair with my radio transmitter that has a 10 model memory. That will go in the kyosho buggy. Lastly a battery pack for the transmitter so I can dump the AA batteries.
Some more past rc vehicles... My first hobby grade kit that I built was the Mauri big bear. I had painted mine metallic blue as well. It looked identical to this one. buzz-saw had one of these too.
After that truck, I tried my luck at nitro, with nobody to help me, until the hobby shop put me in contact with a nitro racer in my area. I was 12 at the time. It was a Hobby Lobby Hunter 1/8th scale buggy with an Enya CX.21 engine. This was my actual car. It's since been sold as it was a shelf queen and I like to run my stuff on occasion. It needed parts I couldn't find and a new engine.
I still have it but can't find the wheels and tires. Otherwise, it looks like I have everything else. This might be a good candidate for a restoration.
More memory lane strolling. Traxxas 1/10th scale nitro vette. Another I wish I had kept. Just an internet pic.
OFNA dominator, 1/8th scale nitro truck. Size compared to my German made FG modelsports 1/6 th scale monster beetle. Kinda wish Id kept that beetle. They stopped making it.
