Another load this morning. CEL is still on but it was the smoothest trip so far One load left there,,,,not sure when I’ll go for that one. I have a cord of wood that needs to be delivered before the truck goes back into the shop next Wednesday and 4th of July weekend will mess with my I want to do what I want to do when I want to do it schedule.
Delivered a cord of wood yesterday. My first July delivery And last load of pallets picked up this morning. Total of 88 pallets. I’m considering that a lifetime supply. Redoing the engineering I’ll only need 12 pallets for a full pen. Back wall can be made out of other long pallets stood up on end. I’ll make it work somehow.
Lookin good Joe. Congrats on the sale. Get them assembled, scrounge up a bunch of logs and another GTG this Fall!!!
Ya know,,,,,maybe not a bad idea. The neighborhood hasn’t been attacked by a swarm of “angry bees” since the last one
Im always game for cutting wood as you know. Dunno how much we made at the last one. I know there's a few that couldn't make it that would love have been there. That rain day didn't help.
Building something I’ve needed for awhile now. A pen for shorts and uglies. My brain was set on making one large enough to fill the two metal pens I bought for mom in her basement. She likes the chunks, she gets the chunks. Now that it’s partially up I’m looking at it and thinking I’ll never fill that in a year of processing. I may reduce it further in size yet or put a divider in the middle. And just a shot of a little more locust ready to split
Nice looking bin. I hate those darn nuggets! I produce more than I can rid myself of! I love the fact you let that BL age that long. Some sweet firewood.
Any logs I’m taking off my property get cut to 12 feet. Makes 16 or 18” rounds without waste. Long branches I don’t bother measuring, just take whatever length I want. The real crooked ones sometimes need to be cut shorter to pick up without dragging. It’s the perfect age. They’re sliding right out of the bark as I pull them out of the pile I won’t bother covering the BL pen for quite awhile, if ever. Maybe it will get washed right in the pen.
With all the pulling, cutting and splitting a lot of the schmutz must get knocked off. In my observations it takes 3-5 years for the logs to get bark free and washed. Id leave the pen uncovered for a while then top cover.
Then I better make it bigger. He’s not entering those pearly gates without a couple a cords of Black Locust in tow. It’s the price of admission
