Fresh snow on the peaks this morning. Had to go to Vail around noon, got snowed on at the top of the Pass. Coming home tonight, snow both sides of the Eisenhower/ Johnson tunnels. Roads will be slick tomorrow. I am not ready for this to start again.
I'm wondering if we just might get a dusting here tonight?? The forecasters have not yet used the s word, but it sure feels like it out there now.
Todd, don't know where here is, but we had 82 yesterday....and only a high of 42 today! Beetle, drive safe.
Keep that out that way for another two months. Would you? I've got a lot of outside things to do here yet.
...BK shuffles into the bar, shaking the wet slush off his shoulders-(currently falling) and sits next to Scotty O. Orders a beer. They sit next to each other in silence, then BK turns to Scotty O and says-" You're not from around here, are you." ..........
Sorry Gas, but I think your out of luck on a couple more months. It will be starting sooner than later.
"Kinda" is the key word there. I get excited when it starts to get cold and I start burning again. But after last year, this year I am "Kinda" getting excited.
Snowed out here today. We got pouring rain at the shop but not far down the road it was snow, about 1". Was weird, been nice and sunny and in the 50s for several days, then out of the blue temps dropped 20* in a hr or so, it turned nearly black and the sky opened up.
I dont think winter is in any hurry to get to New England. It was in the 80s here all weekend. According to the paper nearly the driest September on record and they are prognosticating on an El Nino mild pattern for winter. The upside is that this warm dry pattern has led to the most vibrant fall colors here in years and has been good for getting painting projects done around the house.. Downside is the soil in the gardens is practically dust and local ponds are nearly dried up. I am rather looking forward to it cooling off though, and would like to see some nice snow this winter.
We had a week of summer here. It came to an end last evening. I've always sort of looked forward to winter but somehow, this year I am not looking forward to it. A weird feeling. But, that may still change. For sure I always look forward to fall.
I tell ya, I dealt with some grumpy people today. Snow level dropped to 9.5K overnight. Thurs. morning they're saying 2" on the ground at my level. Tonight, I drove over Loveland Pass in almost a whiteout. I took pictures.
