It's a smart design. One of my friends is an engineer at Toro. Deals with the hydros on commercial units

Was thinking about making a couple of small radial blade blower wheels to mount on top of the port and starboard deck pulleys under the guards.
Thinking it could reduce or maybe eliminate any build up. Just formed sheet steel under the nuts.

I have a buddy about your size. He loves his My Ride toro. He let me try his out before I made my decision. It has drastically reduced my mowing time, mostly because I can actually mow at full speed without getting beat up. I do wish there had been a kawasaki engine option on my titan. Hopefully this 7000 series Kohler last me many years.

We fell backwards into this one, spring of 2022... the guy bought it new for his son to use for his lawn mowing biz he'd started. Dad said the kid did pretty well with the biz for a couple years, while working really hard at it pushing mowers. Dad buys the ZT, then, Jr discovered girls were more fun... o_O... and decided he didn't want to mow any more... lol. We got it for $1650, with 6-7 hrs on it. It had always been stored in a garage.

Anyone double up your mower blades?
Trying to figure out, since my yard is small could I double up the blades, block the discharge and drive slower for a decent mulch?

I've doubled the blades on ours to cut tall Bahia, it did OK. But best results is just get mulching/Gator blades .

I had gator blades on my old Toro, they worked fine, but I didn't think they did anything that much better than a sharp standard blade...haven't bought any more. Never tried double blades...

I use these on my Exmark....Seem to work better than the OEM blades for me.

I think mine would disintegrate the clippings to atoms with dual blades.

I've used regular blades and gator blades and honestly couldn't tell a difference. I think the clippings discharge too quickly for it matter.

I don't think double blades would make much of a difference unless you have really low blade speed or were mowing something other than lawn height grass.

I believe the theory is that with a blocked discharge the lower blade is a high lift and the top is a mulcher and the high speed chops it up.
All I know about it is from some YouTube videos from Ballard inc that popped up when I was looking for old man handles.

Just got a call saying it will be delivered tomorrow morning.
Wondering if I should tell Elizabeth I bought a mower or if I should just let her answer the door.
    Decisions decisions.....

    Does she like surprises?
Me personally, I would not care for a large purchase surprise like that, but that's just me. I overanalyze even small purchases sometimes...

It's been a saving up for thing for 3 years, side jobs and selling some of my mechanical hord. It was a cash deal, nothing out of the accounts or anything.
Believe me I overanalyzed it to death. Going to part out or sell outright some of the garden tractors I never find time to work on. Getting something I don't have to mess around with meant something.
Plus it will be kept like new so resale value will be good.
Being able to maintain my own yard was important.
According to my daughter suspicion is I bought something on Monday.

After 30 years of me I don't think she will be shocked at anything.
